Your coffee journal is stored locally. We do not automatically upload your records or photos. Network checks, exported files and emails you choose to send are explained below.
1. Scope and local use
This policy describes Hedgehog Brew 1.0, its support pages and support correspondence. The app does not require an account or operate a developer-managed cloud account for your coffee data. We do not sell your coffee records or use them for advertising.
2. What is stored on your device
- Brew records: dates, beans, equipment, brewing parameters, ratings, flavor descriptions and notes you enter.
- Bean collection: bean details, roast and purchase information, quantities, inventory changes and photos you add.
- Personal settings: equipment, an optional nickname and introduction, units and recent brewing selections.
- Local recovery copies: files kept during data migration or before restoring a backup.
These are saved in the app’s local storage. We do not receive them automatically. Device-level backups may include app data according to your Apple device and backup settings.
3. Camera, photos and files
Camera: requested only when you choose to take a bean or bag photo. Captured images are processed locally and stored with the bean when you save it. The app does not upload these photos to us or automatically save camera captures to your photo library.
Photo selection: the system photo picker provides the image you select; the app does not scan your entire library. A photo stored in iCloud may be downloaded by the system.
Files: import and export use Apple’s system file picker. Access is limited to files or destinations you choose. You can refuse camera access or revoke it in system Settings and continue using the other features.
4. Network requests and Apple services
The Home screen periodically checks Apple’s version lookup service. The request includes the app’s bundle identifier and a region code to find the applicable store listing. It does not contain your nickname, brew records, bean data or photos. Apple receives connection information such as your IP address as part of the request.
Opening an App Store page, viewing a support page, selecting a cloud-hosted photo or importing a cloud-hosted file may also require a connection. These services handle information under their own policies. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
5. Backups, export and sharing
A JSON backup contains the app’s saved data, including photos and profile information. CSV contains exported brew records. Exported files are not password-protected by the app. Choose a storage location or recipient you trust; if you choose iCloud Drive or another provider, that provider handles the file under its own policy.
Restoring a JSON backup replaces the current data. The app keeps a local copy of the previous files before replacement. Exporting or sending a file is your choice, not an automatic upload to us.
6. Retention, deletion and your choices
Local records remain until you delete or replace them. Use Me → Data Management → Clear All Local Data to remove beans, photos, records, equipment, profile details, settings and the app’s automatic local backups. Deleting an individual item does not remove an older copy of it from an existing backup.
Uninstalling the app removes its local container. Exported files, device backups and copies sent to others are separate; delete them through their storage providers or recipients if needed. There is no app account to delete. You can export your data before clearing it.
7. When you email us
If you contact [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever message, screenshots or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to reply, investigate the issue and handle your request. Our email service processes the correspondence to deliver and store it.
We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request and any applicable record-keeping obligations. You may ask us to access, correct or delete information you sent. We cannot remotely view or delete coffee data stored only on your device.
8. Analytics and this website
The app does not integrate advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may provide diagnostics according to your device sharing settings and its own policies.
These support pages do not set tracking cookies or load advertising or analytics scripts. The language choice is carried in the page address. Delivering a web page requires processing connection information such as an IP address and the requested address.
9. Children and policy updates
We do not knowingly request children’s personal information. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information through support, contact us so we can address the request.
We will update this page and its revision date when our practices change, and provide any additional notice or choice required by applicable law.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected]. Include enough context for us to understand your request without sending unnecessary personal information.
